Salaam Mumbai Foundation (SMF) works to support underprivileged students and adolescents across India

On 14th August 2025, they conducted a webinar for students from Grades 7 to 9 across Maharashtra and 9 other states with a focus on refusal skills and the importance of choosing the right friends and lifestyle habits.

Dr Manjiri Deshpande Shenoy, psychiatrist and Head was invited to conduct this webinar with an aim not just to celebrate friendship, but to empower students with the tools to make informed, confident, and healthy decisions that shape their future

It was a wonderful chance to interact with young minds of the country to guide them to live healthy happy lives!!

VPACON 2025 ie Vidharbha Psychiatric Society had it’s 21st annual conference at Chikaldhara on 26-27th July 2025

Dr Manjiri Deshpande- ICGC Pyschiatrist and Head, was invited as a speaker for a debate “Traditional Parenting was better than New Age Parenting”

The debate was very interesting and covered the pros and cons of both types of parenting!

The debate was very well received with very good active participation from the audience

Very few schools in Mumbai are truly inclusive and go the extra mile to ensure their teachers and parents are well informed about challenges children face

Beacon School had organized a very well thought of program for their teachers and parents on “Embracing Differences in every child”

The topics were extremely relevant and represented the real challenges that are seen in many kids today

Our psychiatrist and Head, Dr Manjiri Deshapnde Shenoy was invited to speak on “Social Awkwardness”

The talk was well received !

We surely need more programs like these in all schools!

Dr. V Manasa Ram was invited today to speak at Divine Touch School as part of their Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) initiative, conducted under the DEO’s directive for all government and private schools. She addressed students on the crucial topic of bullying — its signs, impact, and ways to seek help — promoting a safer and more empathetic school environment.

As part of the awareness programme on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Dr. V. Manasa Ram, Consultant Psychiatrist and Head of Indlas Child Guidance Clinic and Indlas Mind Clinic, participated in a panel discussion at GITAM University.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by Experts of different fields and students.
Students were actively educated about the harmful effects of drug use and the importance of mental health in prevention.

As part of International Yoga Day 2025, ICGC Visakhapatnam conducted a yoga session for children, promoting mindfulness and well-being. The event saw the participation of many children and was aligned with the national celebration led by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in Visakhapatnam. Kudos to Team Vizag for the wonderful initiative..
