Our Story
An experimental green project in India where the ancient techniques of Traditional Yoga & Ayurveda are combined with care for Environment. In a world of distractions and getting lost easily, this ashram reminds us the importance of Connecting with our Roots and finding Peace within. The Wisdom of the Self and harmony with Nature are two main themes of all the retreats offered at this ashram.
The ashram offers some of the best and very uniquely designed Yoga and Ayurveda retreats in this small paradise of 18 acres Organic farm on the banks of a river, in the countryside of Msyore, Karnataka. The biggest reserve forest of India, spreading through three south India states of Kerala and Tamilanadu is just one hour drive away from this place.
The uniqueness of this ashram comes from it being a small community made of traditional teachers who lived in the monasteries and ashrams for many decades before coming up with this idea of an Eco-Ashram! The quality of yoga and ayurveda treatments have no comparison any other yoga retreats or yoga teacher training in India, which are mostly offered by seasonal teachers in a temporary halls in touristy places like Rishikesh, Goa, Dharamasala.
The teachers and team of AyurYoga Eco-Ashram have organized more than 60 yoga teacher trainings so far. Every retreat here is taught by at least four/five expert resident teachers, so itβs different than going to a retreat or training offered mostly by one teacher! There are also other assistant teachers and interns/volunteers who are always ready to listen and help you anytime.
If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience, a retreat at this ashram is a pilgrimage to the most holiest place, which is Your Self! Because what you gain from here is not just the information and exercising body, but itβs an attempt to connect with oneβs own Self! One common line you hear from most of the participants: appreciation for life and our own soul! When you can understand the beauty of the inner Self, as taught by traditional yogic philosophy here, you dare to say this, βI am what I am, life is what it is! Heck with all pessimism, time to make the best in this Samsara!β
