World Thyroid Day 2026 Observed at JSS Hospital, Mysuru
The Department of Endocrinology, Hospital, Mysuru, organized a scientific program in observance of World Thyroid Day 2026 today ie 20th May 2026 at the SRC Auditorium, JSS Hospital, Mysuru.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Sasimouli Veladi, Consultant Endocrine and Breast Surgeon, Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Bengaluru, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Dr. Madhu C.P, Director, JSS Hospital, Mysuru ,Dr. Narayanappa D, Principal, JSS Medical College, Mysuru, Dr.Mahantappa , Vice Principal, JSS Hospital, Mysuru graced the occasion as Guest of Honor.
Present on the Occasion were Dr.Lakshmi Nagendra, Dr.Ajay Hanumanthu, Dr.Sanjana from Department of Endocrinology, JSS Hospital, Mysuru along with Dr.YS Ravi Kumar, Professor, Dept of General Medicine , JSS Hospital, Mysuru.
The program was conducted with the objective of creating awareness regarding prevention, early detection and effective management of Thyroid problem/disease.
The scientific sessions focused on creating awareness regarding thyroid disorders and their management. Experts delivered informative lectures on various thyroid-related conditions.
The sessions included:
Dr. Sushma K, Associate Professor, Department of Paediatrics, JSS Hospital, Mysuru, spoke on Management of Congenital Hypothyroidism.
Dr. M. S. Raghu, Consultant Endocrinologist, Mysuru, delivered a talk on Management of Adult Hypothyroidism.
Dr. Y. S. Ravikumar, Professor, Department of General Medicine, JSS Hospital, Mysuru, addressed Management of Hyperthyroidism.
Dr. Amulya T. M, Assistant Professor, Department of ENT, JSS Hospital, Mysuru, presented on Management of Thyroid Nodule.
Dr. Sasimouli Veladi spoke on Recent Advances in Thyroid Surgery.
The program witnessed active participation from faculty members, postgraduate students, healthcare professionals, and hospital staff.
The sessions highlighted the importance of early diagnosis, awareness, and multidisciplinary management of thyroid disorders for improving patient outcomes.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion followed by lunch.
