Yoga is not just about being flexible.
Yoga takes dedication, patience, persistence and perseverance. It requires both mental and physical strength. It builds an understanding of who you are and how you cope with the challenges presented to you.
Yoga is so much more than stretching! What is yoga to you?

My yoga journey began 6 years ago in 2012 when I relocated from Australia to Kuala Lumpur and discovered a very humble yoga studio on the top floor of a little shop lot in TTDI.
Although originally having a background in the sports and fitness industry for many years, teaching swimming and conducting Group Fitness and Personal Training sessions, I had never actually tried yoga. I was intrigued to give it a go! I was lucky enough to have Angeline Liew and Raymond Lim as my introductory yoga instructors. Their knowledge and skills in delivering educational, alignment focused yoga classes helped to establish a strong understanding of the yoga foundations straight away.
As my practice began to deepen, I found myself spending more and more time on the mat. I realised that the time I dedicated to yoga was the time when I felt most happy, content, calm and focused.
In January 2017 I began to learn the Ashtanga Primary Series, Mysore style, and fell in love with the practice. Within a few months I’d developed a consistent 5 day a week practice and decided to travel to Mysore, India, to practice with Guru Sri Chidanada. From here I began sharing my love and knowledge of yoga with friends and other students I met along the way. Giving small tips and pointers here and there that I’d learnt to really help with particular asanas. People started asking if I was a yoga teacher, and telling me I should be when I answered no. Their continual encouragement and sincere gratitude made me realise my passion for sharing my knowledge and yoga practice with others. I decided I wanted to teach yoga!
I returned to Mysore in 2018 to train with Yogacharya Bharath Shetty, completing a 250 hour Yoga Alliance International Teacher Training.
My teaching style is based on a more classical and traditional yoga approach; bringing awareness to mindful movements, allowing students to connect their breath, mind and body while carefully guiding them through correct pose alignment. I strongly believe yoga is for everyone, no matter what your body disposition is. I offer a range of affordable private and small group classes, tailored to suit the needs and goals of each individual. Suitable for complete beginners through to intermediate practitioners. Come practice with me today!
