🌿 EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO FSSAI – CHENNAI 🌿

The Second Professional BSMS students of Sir Isaac Newton Siddha Medical College successfully visited the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Southern Regional Office, Chennai.
The visit was organized by the Department of Sattam Saarntha Maruthuvamum Nanju Maruthuvamum as per the curriculum guidelines of the NCISM Act, 2020, with the objective of gaining practical exposure and a deeper understanding of food safety regulations in India.
During the visit, FSSAI officials delivered an informative session on the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, explaining the role of FSSAI in ensuring safe, wholesome, and quality food. Students were enlightened on topics such as food licensing and registration, food labeling regulations, food adulteration, enforcement mechanisms, and the importance of food safety audits, inspections, and surveillance in safeguarding public health.
The interaction with experienced professionals effectively bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, offering valuable insights into regulatory challenges and practical solutions in food safety management.
Overall, the educational visit was highly informative, enriching, and well-organized, providing a meaningful learning experience for all participants.
