🌿 EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO FSSAI – CHENNAI 🌿

📅 Date: 06 January 2026

The Second Professional BSMS students of Sir Isaac Newton Siddha Medical College successfully visited the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Southern Regional Office, Chennai.
The visit was organized by the Department of Sattam Saarntha Maruthuvamum Nanju Maruthuvamum as per the curriculum guidelines of the NCISM Act, 2020, with the objective of gaining practical exposure and a deeper understanding of food safety regulations in India.

During the visit, FSSAI officials delivered an informative session on the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, explaining the role of FSSAI in ensuring safe, wholesome, and quality food. Students were enlightened on topics such as food licensing and registration, food labeling regulations, food adulteration, enforcement mechanisms, and the importance of food safety audits, inspections, and surveillance in safeguarding public health.

The interaction with experienced professionals effectively bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, offering valuable insights into regulatory challenges and practical solutions in food safety management.

Overall, the educational visit was highly informative, enriching, and well-organized, providing a meaningful learning experience for all participants.

🌿 SIDDHA DAY CELEBRATION – 06.01.2026 🌿

The Siddha Day was successfully celebrated on 06.01.2026 at Sir Isaac Newton Siddha Medical College, Nagapattinam, in the College Conference Hall, in a simple, disciplined, and spiritually enriching manner.

The programme commenced with the Siddhar Invocation Song (Siddhar Vanakkam Paadal), followed by the lighting of the traditional Kuthuvilakku, symbolizing divine wisdom and the rich heritage of Siddha medicine.

Our Respected Principal addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance, traditions, and objectives of National Siddha Day, and emphasizing the timeless values and relevance of Siddha Medicine in today’s world.

As part of the celebration, Identity Cards were distributed to newly admitted first-year students, marking their formal induction into the Siddha medical profession.

The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets, spreading joy, unity, and the spirit of celebration. The event was conducted smoothly with simplicity, discipline, and spiritual dignity.

📜 *Seminar on Palm-leaf Manuscripts – Event Report*

We are pleased to inform you that the *“ஓலைச்சுவடி (Palm-leaf Manuscripts) Seminar”* was successfully conducted today, 12.12.2025, at the Seminar Hall of SINSMC and Hospital.

Our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Mani Maran Phd. delivered a highly insightful and enriching address that added immense academic value to the event.

Dr. Manimaran is a renowned Tamil scholar and an expert in ancient Tamil manuscripts, including palm-leaf and rare scripts. Based in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, he is well known for his research contributions and for imparting knowledge on reading and interpreting traditional Tamil palm-leaf manuscripts.

He has trained numerous students and enthusiasts in ancient scripts such as Vattezhuththu and Brahmi is dedicated to preserving traditional Tamil knowledge systems.

His remarkable work has been recognised nationally, including appreciation from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, during the Mann Ki Baat (மனதின் குரல்) broadcast on 27.07.2025.

The event began with a warm Welcome Address by Dr. Bhuvaneshwari.K MD(S). Our respected Principal Dr K.P Kannan MD (s) sir honoured the Chief Guest, and the session concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Kayalvizhi S.

Faculty members and First Professional students (totally 65 )participated with great enthusiasm, making the seminar academically meaningful and informative.

This is to inform you that On September 23, 2025, the second professional BSMS students of Sir Isaac Newton Siddha Medical College visited the District Court, Nagapattinam. The visit was organized by Dept.of Sattam Saarntha Maruthuvamum Nanju Maruthuvamum as per syllabus (NCISM, Act 2020) to provide practical exposure to court proceedings and the role of medical professionals in the legal system.
During the visit, the students observed court proceedings and interacted with legal professionals, gaining insights into the legal framework and the importance of medical evidence in court cases. The visit helped the students understand the practical application of forensic medicine and its significance in the legal system. The students are actively participated in this visit. The students expressed their gratitude to the Hon'ble District Judge and the court staff for granting permission and facilitating the visit. We express our gratitude to our honorable chairman Dr. T. Ananth sir, Principal sir, faculties and the management for the successful ex*****on of these educational visit.

We are happy to inform you that the Kindergarten students of Sir Issac Newton School visited the Herbal Garden of our (SIR ISSAC NEWTON SIDDHA MEDICAL & HOSPITAL)college (05.11.2025). 🌱
The children learned about various medicinal plants (Aloe vera, Hibiscus, Mango and neem tree etc.,) and their benefits, with each plant’s importance explained in an engaging way. The kids participated enthusiastically and showed great curiosity throughout the visit. 🌼We sincerely thank our management for providing this wonderful opportunity. 🙏

Sir Issac Newton Siddha Medical College &Hospital Conducted a Free Medical camp-"ஆரோக்ய நல்வாழ்வு இயற்கை மருத்துவ முகாம்" in association with Serudhur Village Panchayat. A team of Six doctors from SINSMC&H provides free medical consultation and treatment(Internal and External) to 135 patients including 15 children. This medical camp also gives knowledge about medical facilities and services have been given by our SINSMC&H to people of the village in order to increase patient footfall. We convey our sincere thanks to our college Chairman sir, Principal , Vice Principal, Administrative officer Mr.Vasu Sir and team for their support to conduct this camp. Thank you.

We are happy to announce that we have initiated "Leech therapy" treatment at our Sir Issac Newton Siddha Medical College hospital today. History of RTA and skin grafting case was treated with 2 leeches, were used to remove impure blood, which will help to remove discoloration of skin in affected area .

On 12th August 2025, Sir Isaac Newton Siddha Medical College and Hospital successfully conducted a one-day medical camp at Sikkal singara kaliamman Kovil. The camp was supported by a dedicated team of doctors, including Dr.R.Deebika, Dr. P.Elamathi, Dr. E.Naveen, Dr. Pavithra and Mr.P.saravana kumar sir. A total of 128 patients attended and benefitted from free consultations, Siddha medicines, external therapies, as well as dietary and lifestyle guidance, asanas, and Varma therapy.A significant number of ortho related conditions were observed and treated during the camp. Many patients expressed their satisfaction and gratitude in their conditions. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our respected Chairman, Dr. Ananth Sir, for providing us with the opportunity to serve the community.
