This is a simple breast self-examination technique that every woman should do to detect breast cancer early.
💗 Why is it important?
Globally, 2.3 million women are affected by breast cancer every year.
Early detection can save lives — and self-examination plays a key role.
✅ How to do Breast Self-Examination (UFO Method)
1️⃣ Visual Examination 👀
Stand in front of a mirror:
Check for changes in size or shape of both breasts
Look for dimpling, swelling, skin changes, or ni**le changes
Raise your arms and observe again ✋✋
2️⃣ Physical Examination 🤲
Use the pads of your fingers/palm to gently feel both breasts:
Move in small circular motions 🌀
Cover the entire breast and underarm area
Look for:
🎯 Lump or thickening
💧 Any ni**le discharge (especially blood)
⚠️ Pain or unusual changes
If you notice any abnormality → consult your doctor immediately 👩⚕️
📅 When to do it?
Once every month
For menstruating women → do it after periods
For post-menopausal women → choose one fixed day each month
Early detection = Better treatment = Saving lives 💪🎀
