Ajni, is an area developed adjacent to the eastern side of Ajni Railway station, the area carry Quarters that are developed since 1881, it's an developed Railway colony that carries various heirarchy of Quarters ( housing ), open play grounds, gardens, railway workshops, Health care centre, temples, church,etc. The area is rich in its environmental value as well carrying 40000+ TREES and act as an green lungs of Central part of city with a wonderful bio diversity that exists there.

Ajni, find its traces with the advent of industrial revolution britishers introduced steam engine in India as a Key component towards a transportation after the British acquired possession over Bombay which is a Great Indian Peninsula Railway on the west coast of India, it become an important trade centre for them facilitating export to their homeland. to trade the goods across the country, Britishers introduced railways a a means of transportation of goods the first train in India becomes operational on *16th April 1853* which ran between Bombay and thane later, on *15th august 1654* railway network was extended to Howrah (Calcutta), the Howrah railway transported iron and steel .jute. To enhance the exchange of goods across the country there was a need of junction as the *zero mile of India lies in Nagpur they established a connection between Bombay and Howrah (Calcutta) by making Nagpur a major railway junction and thus railway were introduced at Nagpur in 1881*
