Matru Sewa Sangh,one of the oldest Charitable organization of Central India celebrated 103 yrs of selfless service by organising Late Padmashree Kamalatai Hospet Oration and CME on MANAGEMENT OF Rh NEGATIVE PREGNANCY ---MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH FOR POSITIVE OUTCOME on Sunday, 17th Nov 2024 at its Sitabuldi premises. This CME was organised in association with Academy of Paediatrics, Nagpur, Nagpur Obstretics and Gynaecological Society and National Assocciation for Reproductive and Child Health of India, Nagpur chapter. This CME was accredited by Maharashtra Medical Council with two credit points. Dr Hema Mankeshwar, former Dean of Govt Medical College, Nagpur was the Chief Guest and Dr Uday Bodhankar, Senior Paediatrician and Executive Director of COMHAD, UK was the Guest of Honour. Dr Vaishali Waradkar, Convener of the CME gave welcome address. Dr Lata Deshmukh, Secretary of Matru Sewa Sangh briefed about the services provided by Matru Sewa Sangh at concessional rates.Tribute was paid to Dr Pramil Asolkar, past President of MSS who recently left for heavenly abode.Dr Hema Mankeshwar gave her blessings for the success of this CME. Dr Uday Bodhankar informed about his long association with Matru Sewa Sangh.The chief guest and guest of honour were felicitated at the hands of Mrs Rashmi Bhave, Vice President of MSS.Dr Kush Jhunjhunwala, President of Academy of Paediatrics Nagpur , Dr. Sandeep Nikhade, President of NOGS,Dr Alka Mukherjee, President of NARCHI, Nagpur chapter,Dr Pushpa Bhave Medical Superintendent of MSS and Seniormost gynaecologist Dr Ratna Shekhawat were prominently present.Dr Kamini Nakade proposed vote of thanks. Dr Rishi Lodaya was MMC Observer.
In the Scientific session, Dr Sandeep Nikhade delivered Late Padmashree Kamalatai Hospet Oration. Dr Milind Mandlik was the keynote speaker.Lectures were held on various topics related to Management of Rh Negative Pregnancy... a high risk condition. Dr Rishi Lodaya, Dr Prachi Dixit Saxena, Dr Amee Rahatekar, Dr Manjushree Waikar, Dr Neelam Chhajed and Dr Pritesh Khatwar were the guest speakers. Dr Sutapa Roy, Dr Yash Banait,Dr Alka Mukherjee,Dr Kush Jhunjhunwala, Dr Jitendra Sahu and Dr Mustafa Ali were Chairpersons for the various sessions. The Scientific program ended with a panel discussion on various complicated cases. It was moderated by Dr Vaishali Waradkar. Dr Kamini Nakade, Dr Chandrashekhar Fande, Dr Rujuta Fuke, Dr Vaishali Changole, Dr Shivangi Jahagirdar and Dr Kanchan Dwidmuthe were the panelists. The program was conducted by Dr Shoa Khan and Dr Ujwala Zamad.All the doctors and staff of Matru Sewa Sangh worked hard for the success of this CME.

To mark 100 years of selfless dedicated service, Matru Sewa Sangh Sitabuldi one of the oldest Charitable Organizations of Central India had organized a two day conference “CentiCon-2021” on 2nd & 3rd Oct 2021 at its Sitabuldi premises.

The theme of the conference was “Birth & Beyond.”
The conference was jointly organized in association with Nagpur Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (NOGS), National Association of Reproductive and Child Health of India (NARCHI), Nagpur Chapter, Academy of Paediatrics (AOP), Nagpur and Indian Society of Anaesthologists, Indian City Branch (ISA-NCB). Dr. Alka Mukerjee, President, NOGS; Dr. Ujjawala Deshmukh, President NARCHI; Dr. Kshama Kedar, Professor, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College; Dr. Vijay Dhote, President, AOP and Dr. Saurabh Barde, President, ISA conducted 4 workshops.

The inauguration held by Prajakta Lavangare- Verma, Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur Division was the chief guest and Dr. Bhavana Sonawane, Dean, IGGMCH was guest of honour.

Dr. Aruna Babhulkar, President, MSS; Mrs. Jayshree Pendherkar, Vice-President, MSS; Dr. Lata Deshmukh, Secreatry, MSS; Dr. Vasanti Deshpande, Treasurer, MSS; Dr. Pushpa Bhave, Medical Superintendent and executive committee members were present.

On this occasion six senior doctors Dr. Pramil Asolkar, Dr. Manjula Rohtagi, Dr. Nirmala Vaze, Dr. Tara Dhar, Dr. Ratna Shekhawat and Dr. Chhaya Chourasia were felicitated for their life-long association and outstanding contribution to Matru Sewa Sangh.

Organising Committee members Dr. Nirmala Vaze as Convenor, Dr. Ratna Shekhawat and Dr. Vaishali Waradkar as Organising Chairpersons; Dr. Rishi Lodaya and Dr. Kamini Nakade as Organising Secretaries; Dr. Pratibha Lanjewar as Treasurer; Dr. Seema Deshmukh, Dr. Amee Rahtekar and Dr. Sarita Jaiswal as Joint Secretaries; Dr. Shoa Khan, Dr. Reshma Giripunje and Dr. Rizwan Khan as Joint Treasurer worked hard for the conference.

On 10th Feb 2021 ISA NCB conducted BCLS training for Doctors and Paramedical Staff at Matru Sewa Sangh Sitabuldi Maternity Home (Charitable Hospital), Sitabuldi, Nagpur on the occasion of their Centenary Celebrations. Activity was carried out by Executive Member ISA NCB Dr Leena Ingle along with Senior Anaesthesiologists Dr Pratibha Lanjewar and Dr Shobha Daga.

BCLS demonstration and Hands on training was given to around 65 participants. BCLS/COLS charts in English and Hindi by ISA NCB were donated to be displayed at hospital.

Late founder Kamlatai Hospet and co-founder Late Venutai Nene established Sitabuldi Maternity Home in 1921. While performing deliveries of pregnant women they faced insufficient trained nurses for help. So both of them decided to start “Dai Prashikshan Kendra” so that the needy womens in the society can be trained as nurses. In this way the nursing school has established. Later the nursing school has been registered under the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Maharashtra Nursing Council (MNC).
The aim is to train young girls and rehabilitate them in the profession of nursing. The mission of the project to provide accessible, affordable, accountable, effective and reliable health care to the mother and child.
