Today Residents from the Department of Community Medicine ,GMC Nagpur conducted a field visit to Primary Health Center (PHC) Pachgaon and its attached Subcenter Virli. The visit aimed to understand the organization, functioning, and service delivery of peripheral health institutions under the public health system.
At PHC Pachgaon, residents were oriented to the infrastructure, staffing pattern, and various services provided, including outpatient services, maternal and child health care, immunization, family planning, national health programmes, and basic laboratory facilities. The role of medical officers, staff nurses, ANMs, ASHAs, and other healthcare workers in delivering comprehensive primary healthcare was discussed. Records and registers related to RCH, immunization, disease surveillance, and drug logistics were reviewed.
At Subcenter Virli, residents observed the functioning of the subcenter as the first point of contact between the community and the health system.
