Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to brushing your teeth properly:
Wet your toothbrush and apply a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste.
Hold the brush at a 45-degree angle to your gums.
Brush gently in small circular motions, cleaning:
The outer surfaces of your teeth
The inner surfaces of your teeth
The chewing surfaces of your teeth
Brush your front teeth by tilting the brush vertically and using gentle up-and-down strokes.
Brush your tongue to help remove bacteria and freshen your breath.
Brush for 2 minutes total (about 30 seconds for each quarter of your mouth).
Spit out the toothpaste when finished. Avoid rinsing with lots of water immediately afterward so the fluoride can keep protecting your teeth.
Floss once a day to clean between teeth where a toothbrush cannot reach.
How often?
Brush twice a day: once in the morning and once before bed.
🦷 Tip: Replace your toothbrush (or electric toothbrush head) every 3–4 months, or sooner if the bristles become frayed.
