The World Health Organization has established the Strategic and Technical Advisory Group on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (STAG-TM)โa decisive step toward applying scientific rigour, global standards, and policy coherence to traditional medicine. This marks a key milestone in implementing the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Strategy 2025โ2034.
With 19 independent experts selected through a transparent global process, STAG-TM will focus on evidence generation, regulation, integration, and international collaborationโexactly the domains where emerging systems must mature to gain global legitimacy.
For Sujok Therapy, this development opens clear future avenues for scientific validation, structured research, and alignment with WHOโs integrative healthcare framework, enabling its responsible inclusion in global health discourse.
Special recognition to Dr. Shyama Kuruvilla, Director of the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine. Her leadership from India carries deep significance, as it places traditional medicine at the heart of global health strategy while ensuring alignment with scientific rigor, public health ethics, and universal health coverage.
We sincerely appreciate the leadership & wisdom of dear Prof. Bhushan Patwardhan ji, whose consistent advocacy for evidence-based validation of traditional knowledge systems has helped move global discourse from belief to credibility, and from practice to policy.
This moment signals not just recognitionโbut a pathway forward for systems like Sujok to integrate responsibly within WHO-guided healthcare futures.
