Sivananda Ashtang Yoga Shala Nagpur

Sivananda Ashtang Yoga Shala Nagpur We believe an ounce of practice is better than tones of theory. Our shala teaches the Yogic methods Our Yogashala is at Vijanangar, Near Poonam Chambers.

Sivananda Ashtang YogaSHala is a traditional Sivananda Yoga class. It is hard to put what actually Yoga means as it is like describing the rainbow in words, you have to experience it yourself. But if i quote from my teachers it is simply the "cessation of mind", the state of inner quietness. We at Sivananda Ashtag YogaShala Nagpur are just trying to spread the message of Master Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda. It is an old school of yoga which has its beauty in its simplicity and grace. We are just humble servants who are truly in love with it and spreading the message. Come visit us to experience it :)

“Some beautiful moments from our 8 Limbs Himalayan Retreat 5.0 🌿✨
Our sacred visits to the ancient Mukhba Temple — winter home of Goddess Ganga — and the serene Markandeya Temple, where timeless devotion meets the silence of the Himalayas.
Grateful for these divine experiences amidst the mountains and the flow of the Ganga.”

Importance of Sattvic Meals 🌿

In yogic philosophy, food is not only nourishment for the body but also for the mind and spirit. Sattvic meals are considered the purest form of food, promoting clarity, peace, and harmony within.

Sattvic foods are fresh, light, and full of prana—the life force energy. They help increase vitality, alertness, and inner strength, unlike stale or processed foods which are considered tamasic (dulling).

These meals are easy to digest and cleanse the internal systems. They support the body’s natural detoxification processes, keeping it light and energetic.

According to legend, Hanuman Chatti is the place where Bhima (one of the Pandava brothers) met his elder brother Lord Hanuman during their journey to the Himalayas in search of the Saugandhika flower for Draupadi.

On the path, Bhima saw an old monkey (Hanuman in disguise) lying across the trail.

•Proud of his strength, Bhima asked the monkey to move aside. The monkey humbly asked Bhima to move his tail if he could.

•Despite his immense power, Bhima couldn’t lift the tail even slightly. Realizing this was no ordinary being, he bowed before Hanuman.
•Hanuman then revealed his divine form and blessed Bhima, promising to be present on Arjuna’s chariot flag during the Kurukshetra war as his emblem of strength and protection.

It is said that praying here removes ego, obstacles, and fear, preparing pilgrims spiritually for darshan at Badrinath.

Neem Karoli Baba did his Sadhana here.

The name Koteshwar means “Lord of a crore (ten million) gods.” It is believed that innumerable deities reside here in subtle form.

According to legend, Lord Shiva meditated in the caves of Koteshwar on his way to Kedarnath to avoid the Pandavas after the Mahabharata war.

The name “Vasudhara” means “the stream of wealth” or “shower of prosperity.”
It is believed that the water of Vasudhara Falls does not touch impure hearts — symbolizing that divine grace flows only to those who are pure in intention and consciousness.

According to legend, the Pandavas passed this waterfall on their journey to heaven (Mahaprasthana) after leaving their kingdom.

Vasudhara Falls is one of the most breathtaking and spiritually charged places near Badrinath, nestled high in the Himalayas where the sacred and the natural merge seamlessly.

About 9 km from Badrinath Temple — 3 km to Mana Village (by road or walk) and then a 6 km uphill trek to the falls.

Altitude: Around 12,000 ft (3,700 m) above sea level.
The trail offers majestic views of snow peaks, including Nar-Narayan, Neelkanth, and the Alaknanda valley below.
