I am deeply honored and humbled to be included in the executive committee of the "Diabetes Association of India, Nagpur 2025-2026".
It is a privilege to serve this esteemed organization, which plays a vital role in advancing diabetes care, education, and runs on mission to improve diabetes management, support healthcare professionals, and create greater public awareness across our nation.
I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dr.Nitin Wadaskar on his installation as President of the Diabetes Association of India, Nagpur Chapter.It felt great to contribute in the public awareness programme held today for Diabetes and it's complications with other panelists.
Together, we will work towards a healthier society driven by scientific knowledge, compassionate care, empathy and fighting this deadly disease and give back to the society!

Michael DeBakey, who developed the surgery for aortic dissection, later suffered an aortic dissection himself.

He initially declined surgery (the very procedure he had pioneered); however, after he lapsed into unconsciousness, the operation was performed with the approval of the ethics committee. He subsequently thanked the surgical team for prolonging his life and continued to work until the day he died at the age of 99.

Two commonly used systems for classifying aortic dissection are the Stanford and DeBakey classifications.
