“Today is 17 YEARS since my kidney transplant! 17 freaking years! That is incredible! The average transplanted kidney lasts about 10 years.

I was very fortunate to receive this organ from my Dad, a living donor. Remember, if you become an organ donor, you could potentially save 8 lives! Someone just like me! 💗

Together with my transplant team, we work really hard keeping this kidney going. Daily medications, labs, infusions, eating healthy. It's a lot of work. I have a lot of down days. But it is definitely worth it to continue to live this beautiful life that I have.

I am eternally grateful to all my doctors, nurses, home care nurses, family, and friends. What an incredible journey. 💗”
