Today is16th October, full moon night. A special day with biggest and brightest moon in the sky. Sharad Purnima is considered to be one of the most powerful nights of the year where ‘Chandra dev’ or the Moon God is in his full might. Sharad Purnima is dedicated to both Lord Vishnu and the Moon God, and it is said that their energies are at their peak during this night. According to beliefs, the moon rays on Sharad Purnima have special powers, and soaking in the moonlight helps in improving health, having better mental clarity, and also is the perfect time to wish for the right things. Along with the moon’s power, Goddess Lakshmi is also honoured on Sharad Purnima. The Kojagari vrat on this day is kept with the belief that Maa Lakshmi roams the Earth on the night of Sharad Purnima and blesses the devotees who pray to her with utmost devotion.

Tomorrow is sixth day of Navratri. Tomorrow is day of Mahishasur mardini that is devi Katyayani. devi Katyayani is an aspect of Mahadevi and the slayer of the tyrannical demon Mahishasura. She is the sixth among the Navadurgas, the nine forms of Hindu goddess Durga who are worshipped during the festival of Navaratri. She is depicted with four, ten or eighteen hands.Goddess Katyayani has three eyes and four hands. She holds a sword in one of her left hands and a lotus in another. Her right hands can be seen in the varada mudra (bestowing boons) and abhaya mudra (represents removal of fear, benevolence and protection). With the crescent moon adorning her forehead, Goddess Katyayani rides a lion.

मंगळ हा अवतार आहे, तसेच हिंदू धर्मात मंगळ ग्रहाचे नाव आहे. लोहिता ('लाल') म्हणूनही ओळखला जातो , तो क्रोध, आक्रमकता आणि युद्धाची देवता आहे. वैष्णव धर्मानुसार, तो भूमी देवी, आणि विष्णू यांचा पुत्र आहे, जेव्हा तिला आपल्या वराह अवतारात समुद्राच्या तळातून पाण्यातून उठवले तेव्हा त्याचा जन्म झाला. शैव धर्मानुसार, एकदा शिव कैलास पर्वतावर ध्यानात मग्न असताना, त्याच्या कपाळावरून घामाचे तीन थेंब पृथ्वीवर पडले. त्या थेंबांपासून लालसर रंग आणि चार हात असलेले एक सुंदर बाळ जन्माला आले. शिवाने मुलाला संगोपनासाठी पृथ्वी मातेकडे सुपूर्द केले. भूमीने वाढवलेल्या मुलाचे नाव भौमा ठेवले.
