Today is 21st October. Monday. A day dedicated to moon god soma.
The energy of the Moon is cool, calm and attractive, enhances intuitive abilities, brings health, wealth, happiness, spiritual experience, deep silence, bliss, and an enlightened state of consciousness.
At certain time Chandra was considered the god of fertility, because of the dew that appears during the night and gives life to plants, as dew was perceived as a gift from the Moon. Chandra was also prayed to when the couple wanted to have a child.
Chandra was created from the cosmic Ocean of Milk, after being churned by gods and demons during battle. Chandra floated to the surface and continued to rise. The gods decided that He should find a place for himself in the sky, and not live in the domain of other deities.

She is the sixth among the Navadurgas, the nine forms of Hindu goddess Durga who are worshipped during the festival of Navaratri.
