The Quality Assurance Department of Oriental College of Pharmacy has organized a visit for Sem II FY M. Pharm QA students from Oriental College of Pharmacy visited Raptim Research Pvt. Ltd., a leading CRO (Contract Research Organization) on 5th June 2025. The students were accompanied by the faculties Dr. Vandana Jain and Ms. Swarnali Manick. The visit provided valuable insights into the practical aspects of pharmaceutical research. The visit was structured around three major units within the facility, offering the students a comprehensive understanding of the research workflow. The students explored the Analytical Area, where they were introduced to the LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry/Mass Spectrometry) instruments, HPLC, and ICP-OES, crucial for precisely analyzing drug concentrations in biological samples. These technologies play a key role in bioequivalence and bioavailability studies, which are essential for comparing drug tests and reference formulations.
In the Clinical Unit, the students learned about the protocols followed during human trials, including subject screening, sample collection, and safety monitoring.
The in vitro studies section demonstrated how drug administration via a nasal tube is tested for release and dissolution properties into the skin. Finally, the visit covered three distinct plants within the campus, each dedicated to different research activities—formulation analysis, testing, and documentation. Overall, the visit to Raptim Research Pvt. Ltd. was an enlightening experience, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world pharmaceutical research.
