Pulse 2026! Three cheers to the initiative by the honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavisji and Govt of Maharashtra and authorities
Such a pleasure to have been invited as an expert faculty in a pure unbiased way through a stringent process given the experience and expertise in the field by the Govt of Maharashtra!
Moderated the session and conducted a panel discussion on Nex Gen Robotic Training as an invited session from DMER and Govt of Maharashtra
Impressed with the ideas and plans of infrastructure building, capacity building, medical tourism, training next generation for making Viksit Maharashtra and Viksit India
Ket take aways from the robotic session which I crafted
1. Democratization and decentralisation of Robotic surgery is welcome
2. Exclusive subspecialised practice is needed for better outcomes
3. Dedicated fellowship training is necessary for a good robotic surgeon in his consultant path
4. Every procedure has a learning curve - outcomes vary from surgeons to surgeons based on baseline experience, training and proficiency
5. Medical tourism needs good capacity building and niche focus
6. Auditing the outcomes for long term results is needed and is very much important especially for oncology
7. Surgeries with lower complexity and generalised work can be decentralised to Tier 2/3 cities, however surgeries of high end expertise should still be tertiary referral work for due diligence
