We invite you to the launch of 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙖𝙛𝙚, 𝙤𝙣 7𝙩𝙝 𝙉𝙤𝙫 ‘21. This is a virtual session that will take place every Sunday, 11:30am - 1:00pm.
TBC will be a place where you can come and spend time with us and ask your breastfeeding queries. Since it is a group session, you can also listen in to what others may have to say and probably find your solutions in others’ questions too.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁:
🤱🏽 TBC will work on a first come first serve basis. In one session, only 10 people will be allowed.
🤱🏽 Each person will get 10 minutes with the LC. If you have extra questions, we will take it at the end if time permits. Or, maybe someone else may ask the same question.
🤱🏽 If you have attended even one session, there will be no refund of payment.
🤱🏽 During the session, if the LC feels you need a one on one consultation for latch assessment, then you can drop off from the session, pay the additional amount and fix a convenient time with the LC. Or, you can continue with TBC and pay separately for the consultation.

Did you know this?!

Apart from revising the paid maternity leave to *26 weeks*, The Maternity (Amendment) Bill 2017 also made some welcome changes to the earlier law. Some of them are

👉 Pumping/Nursing Breaks - Though the duration of these breaks is not mentioned, the Law does state 2 breaks in a full working day till the baby/babies are 15 months of age.

👉Inclusion of surrogate mothers - the entitlement of maternity leave in this case shall be for a period of 12
weeks from the date the child is handed over to her.

👉Inclusion of adopting mothers - A woman who legally adopts a child below the age of 3 months, shall be entitled to maternity benefit for a period of 12 weeks from the date the child is handed over to
her.

If you are resuming work from office, talk to your HR, let them know if you wish to pump so they can make arrangements for the same.

Some sources indicate that shaking has the potential to destroy the protein structure of large proteins in biologically active substances, some feel that the forces required to change the milk are significantly more than could be provided via shaking.
Others note that sheer forces from shaking are not the only issue–bursting of bubbles caused by shaking may also damage cells or denature proteins.
To play it safe, use the smallest amount of force needed to mix the layers, keeping in mind that the layers will mix better as the milk warms.

While most pumpers need the standard 24-26mm fl**ges which come with most pumps, some might need a smaller or a bigger size. If pumping is painful, its most likely that you need to get a bigger fl**ge!

Not enough people know that (almost) everyone with breasts/chests can feed in some capacity or the other, provided they get the right support!
In most of the cases where the parent was not able to meet their breastfeeding goals, a major factor is lack of support. The goal is to help everyone make informed choices!

DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE!

There's always a perspective for a pumping parent, some share sympathy, some celebrate, some just wonder how you do it all but almost no one tells you that you are breastfeeding when the baby gets expressed milk.

Let alone others.
In the beginning of my pumping journey, even I refused to acknowledge it and it took me months to realize that exclusive pumping was not a failure, but its own victory.

So if you are pumping, just know that you are breastfeeding too!

As a new mom, I wasn't even aware LCs existed. We are often asked why does a new parent need an LC? isn't breastfeeding natural and hence it should come naturally? If one were to draw comparisons, breastfeeding is more like walking, an acquired skill.
