IMPORTANT UPDATE!

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) under Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India announced a waiver of local clinical trials for certain categories of drugs namely:

• Orphan Drugs for rare diseases

• Gene and cellular therapy products

• New drugs used in pandemic situation

• New drugs used for special defense purpose

• New drugs having significant therapeutic advance over the current standard of care

The CDSCO is working towards strengthening the regulatory ecosystem which will be critical to build a foundation for life-sciences innovation in the coming years. There is a significant opportunity for India become the clinical trials destination for the world. to

The rankings were based on country scores in three key metrics:

◆ Clinical infrastructure, and

◆ Operating infrastructure

This spotlight on the country's conducive environment for clinical trials is good news for Malaysia, indicating that they are on the right track in expanding the industry and making the country a regional hub for clinical research.

It’s a wrap and we’re happy to share some updates!

The **Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI)** Clinical Trials Symposium provided a great opportunity for the **Expecto Health Science** team to connect and engage with peers across the ecosystem.

Day 2 of the event had some impactful presentations by leading experts who touched on topics such as:

Expecto Health Science was at "Day 1" of the inaugural Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI) Clinical Trials Symposium, themed "The Promise of Clinical Trials: Transforming Tomorrow's Health"!

The symposium was officiated by the Guest-of-Honour. Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister & Chairman of the National Research Foundation Singapore. Mr Heng Swee Keat, who also launched Clinical Trials.SG (CTSG), the very first clinical trial portal in Singapore, providing easy access to information about clinical research to the public and driving clinical research excellence in Singapore. This significant move and milestone is highly welcomed by Expecto Health Science. As a full-service CRO headquartered in Singapore, we are addressing the needs of the ecosystem and are contributing to improve healthcare outcomes in Singapore and in the region.

The first day of the symposium ended on a high note Dr Pramod Kashid, CEO, Expecto Health Science, delivered an insightful presentation on Decentralised Clinical Trials (DCTs) and was part of the panel discussion on "Benefits and Challenges of Decentralised Clinical Trials".

His leadership prowess has led to the successful establishment of clinical research operations in an impressive 13 countries in the APAC region, revolutionizing the landscape of companies' expansion in new markets. Throughout his remarkable career, Dr Kashid has been involved in the development of groundbreaking therapies that have saved countless lives.
