Causes of Conductive Hearing loss
1. Fluid builds up in the middle ear due to colds and allergies. Middle ear infection or otitis media. Otitis media is a term that means otitis media;
2. Decreased function of the Eustachian tube. The Eustachian tube connects the middle ear to the nose. Fluid in the middle ear drains through this tube. If the tube does not work properly, fluid may remain in the middle ear.
3. A hole in your eardrum.
4. Benign tumor. Although these tumors are not cancerous, they can block the outer or middle ear.
Earwax or earwax gets stuck in the ear canal. An infection of the ear canal called otitis externa. You might call this swimmer's ear.
5. A foreign object is stuck in the outer ear. An example would be if a child puts a pebble in his ear while playing outside.
6. Problems with the formation of the outer or middle ear. Some people are born without external ears. Some people have deformed ear canals or problems with the bones in the middle ear.
