In a significant step towards expanding access to compassionate healthcare, CanSupport unveiled two Mobile Palliative Care Clinics (MPCCs) as part of the initiative supported by Optum India. These mobile clinics are designed to deliver free-of-charge, holistic palliative care services to underserved cancer patients and ensure dignity, comfort and care for both patients and caregivers. The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to improving access to holistic cancer care, combining Optum's resources with our specialised expertise to reach those who need it most and we are thankful for the alliance.

We were delighted to host author Ramendra Kumar at our Day Care session.
He launched his latest book, “Coping with Cancer”, and brought smiles all around by enacting stories from one of his books for children as well.
Drawing from his own cancer journey, he inspired our patients to embrace life with courage, hope, and joy.

CanSupport- Caring for people with Cancer

We are working towards a caring and supportive society where people with cancer and their families live with dignity, hope and comfort. It is our mission to enable these people to make informed choices while receiving appropriate physical, emotional, social and spiritual support.

Harmala Gupta is a cancer survivor and social activist who has pioneered cancer support services in India. After her brush with cancer, she founded the first cancer support group in India, ‘Cancer Sahyog’ in 1990.

In 1996, she initiated a 3 month pilot project in collaboration with the cancer hospital in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, to bring palliative care to the homes of six patients with terminal cancer along with Ruth Wooldridge, a nurse from the UK. This was the beginning of CanSupport’s home-based palliative care programme.
