A 62 yr old , smoker for 50 years came with severe chest pain and screaming that he will not survive this heart attack asking all his family members to come near in his last moments.
I was patiently observing everything. I politely took consent for angiography and found 100 % lad closed. This artery is called as widow artery. And after that explained everything to his wife, took very high risk consent as his intraarterial bp was just 60 mm hg systolic. We took him on norad drip 20 ml / hr for low bp . Patiently we handled his emotional outbursts on cath table and with my expertise opened lad in just 20 minutes. chest pain was relieved, patient gave us thumbs-up 👍 sign and started crying 😢 . I just touched his forehead and said you are doing well now . In next 2 days tapered his norad drip and discharged him . Whenever he saw me , with folded hands he paid his gratitude. His wife and sons searched me on Google and said you are the best cardiologist of the town.
This is the beauty of primary angioplasty in heart attack and this is the beauty of interventional cardiology. I felt proud of myself for handling such an emotional patient who knew death was near to him.
Thanks to my cath lab team.
Thanks to almighty 🙏
