Green lasers are often used in retinal treatments, particularly in procedures like photocoagulation for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal holes and lattices and retinal vein occlusion.

A macular hole is a small tear or break in the macula, the central part of the retina at the back of the eye. The macula is responsible for sharp, central vision, which allows us to see fine details, like reading, recognizing faces, or driving.

When a macular hole develops, it can cause blurred or distorted central vision, and in some cases, a small dark spot may appear in the center of your vision.

Treatment for a macular hole may include surgery to repair the hole, which can improve vision.
