Forgiveness waits, a gift so rare,
For those who strive, to show they care,
To correct the mistake, to make it right,
To shine with integrity, in the dark of night.

Never forget, the hurt of the past,
Lest the lessons learned, be forever aghast,
For forgiveness without change, is a lie,
A temporary balm, that won't dry the eye.

The scars remain, the memories stay,
Until the wrongdoer, finds a better way,
