Ministry of Ayush was formed with a view to provide focused attention towards development of Education and Research in Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani , Siddha and Homoeopathy systems.The Ministry continues to lay emphasis on upgradation of Ayush educational standards, quality control and standardization of drugs, improving the availability of medicinal plant material, research and development and awareness generation about the efficacy of the system, domestically and internationally.

A meeting co-chaired by Joint Secretary (Ayush), Ms. Monalisa Dash, and Ms. Genessa Giorgi, HHS Health Attaché for India and Regional Representative for South Asia, U.S. Embassy, New Delhi, was convened to review the activities undertaken under the Letter of Intent between CCRAS, Ministry of Ayush, and OCCAM/NCI, Government of the United States of America, and to discuss its renewal.
