Ministry of Ayush was formed with a view to provide focused attention towards development of Education and Research in Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani , Siddha and Homoeopathy systems.The Ministry continues to lay emphasis on upgradation of Ayush educational standards, quality control and standardization of drugs, improving the availability of medicinal plant material, research and development and awareness generation about the efficacy of the system, domestically and internationally.

Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, addressed the post-budget webinar on Health, Ayush, and Pharma, highlighting the Government’s commitment to strengthening integrated healthcare systems under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He noted the significant rise in the Ministry of Ayush allocation from ₹1,069 crore in 2014–15 to ₹4,408 crore, reflecting the growing role of Ayush systems in India’s healthcare framework.

Key initiatives highlighted included the establishment of new All India Institutes of Ayurveda (AIIA), strengthening Ayush pharmacies and drug testing laboratories, expansion through the National Ayush Mission and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, development of regional medical hubs, promotion of medical value travel, and training of 1.5 lakh caregivers. These initiatives will strengthen the Ayush ecosystem, support farmers and MSMEs, enhance research and quality assurance, and further strengthen the ecosystem of the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre in Jamnagar.

Reaffirming the Government’s commitment to effective implementation, he noted that stakeholder consultations and expert inputs from the webinar would help address bottlenecks and guide the roadmap forward, advancing the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas towards building a stronger and inclusive healthcare system for a Viksit Bharat.
