Ms. Sreelata Verma was diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome, a rare inherited condition linked to multiple cancers of the colon, re**um, and uterus. She presented with two distinct tumors in the colon and an additional endometrial malignancy.

Under the expert care of Dr. Ruquaya Ahmad Mir (Senior Consultant – Surgical Oncology) at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, she underwent a complex yet successful procedure — a total colectomy combined with radical hysterectomy and bowel reconstruction.

Today, Ms. Verma is recovering well, maintaining oral intake, and continuing medication under close follow-up.

Dr. Ruquaya emphasizes the importance of early genetic testing and regular colonoscopy screening for families with a history of colorectal cancer, enabling timely intervention and prevention.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Apollo Hospitals Delhi came alive with a heartfelt activation by our - a dedicated team of breast cancer specialists.

Together with the public, they honoured breast cancer warriors by writing their names on the Wall of Warriors using pink paint, each name a story of courage and resilience. The atrium was filled with powerful moments, from pink placards and the “I got my mammogram done. Did you?” selfie booth, to a celebratory cake that marked the spirit of strength and survival.

A moving reminder that early detection saves lives, and together, we can beat breast cancer.
