Oral cancer journey of - Mr Anirudh

Mr. Anirudh Kumar was initially treated for oral cancer at Apollo Hospital, Delhi, where he underwent surgery by Dr. Anil. Post-surgery, chemotherapy and radiation were carried out in Chennai. Unfortunately, the cancer soon spread to his lungs, bones, and other areas.

Upon learning about Dr. Manish Singhal, the family consulted him despite the disease reaching an advanced stage. Dr. Singhal assured them of the best possible care, and his support brought hope and confidence to the family, especially amid discouraging feedback from their hometown, Allahabad.

Currently, while the disease is not curable, Mr. Anirudh is receiving effective treatment, and the family is satisfied with the care. Due to distance, a treatment plan was designed to allow ongoing care near his home, with periodic follow-ups.

Key Message:
The cancer was caused by gutka/tobacco use. This case highlights the deadly consequences of such habits and stresses the importance of prevention, early detection, and timely treatment.

Can stress cause cancer?

Understanding Stress and Its Impact
The saying "worry is like a funeral pyre" is accurate, as everyone experiences stress to some degree.
Extreme stress is indicated by behaviors like binge eating, abnormal eating, sleep deprivation, reliance on alcohol/smoking, or excessive anger.
How Stress Contributes to Cancer Risk
Excessive stress triggers the release of three key adrenaline hormones: Glucocorticoids, epinephrine, and norepinephrine.
These hormones are secreted by the adrenal gland, located above the kidneys, which is responsible for stress-related responses.
High levels of these hormones lead to bodily changes, such as increased blood supply, which can promote the growth of cancer cells.
This process is known as inflammatory cytokines...
Prolonged inflammatory cytokines... significantly increases the risk of developing cancer and also the chances of cancer spreading and becoming more aggressive.
Managing Stress for Better Health
It's crucial to keep stress within limits and under control.
Engage in de-stressing exercises to manage stress and lead a healthier life.
