Our Story

Family of Disabled is a voluntary organisation committed to the cause of people with disabilities since 1992. It was founded by Dr. Rajinder Johar, after he became quadriplegic owing to an injury to his cervical spine. Though he led a bed ridden life himself, he enabled innumerable people with disabilities lead an independent and dignified life. Under his able leadership, FOD introduced various unique programmes over the years, which led to self -reliance and economic independence of people with disabilities. FOD continues to run the programmes, which have direct impact on the lives of people with disabilities. FOD is carrying forward the rich legacy and responsibility that we shared with our Founder and expanding to take his vision and mission higher. Our MISSION is “To build and nurture the capacities of persons with disabilities through different sustainable interventions for improving their quality of life, making them self reliant and facilitating their mainstreaming.” To know more - What we do?
