Sanskrit words for teachers based on their unique abilities.

1. The teacher who gives you information is called: *Adhyapak*.

2. The one who imparts knowledge combined with information is called: *Upadhyaya*,

3. The one who imparts skills is called: *Acharya*.

4. The one who is able to give a deep insight into a subject is called: *Pandit*.

5. The one who has a visionary view on a subject and teaches you to think in that manner is called: *Dhrishta*.

6. The one who is able to awaken wisdom in you, leading you from darkness to light, is called; *Guru*.

Sanskrit is, perhaps, the only language that has such a refined vocabulary to distinguish the different kinds of teachers.....*Happy Guru Purnima*🙏🏻💐

Dr.Sarvpreet Singh

Dr. Sarvpreet Singh is an ayurvedic graduate from Punjab University, Chandigarh. After completion of his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S), he went to Kerala for deep study of Ayurveda and to learn techniques & practical aspects of Panchkarma.

He did orientation program in Ayurveda from Keraleeya Ayurved Smajam Hospital, Shoranur, Kerala under the guidance of Dr. K. Sasidharan and started practicing in Chandigarh after returning from Kerala. During his first year of practicing he was selected for C.R.A.V. by Rashtriya Ayurved Vidyapeeth (An autonomous organization under Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Govt. Of India.).

C.R.A.V. is a unique kind of Guru-Shishya parampara (Ancient kind of Teacher Disciple Tradition) course. He was selected as a disciple (Shishya) under Guru Vaidya Madan Gopal Sharma, Former Director National institue of Ayurved, Jaipur, India.

Under the expert guidence of Dr. Vaidya Sharma, he examined 80-90 paitents daily for an year and established his expertise in pulse diagonsis (Nadi Gyan) and clinical aspects of Ayurvedic treatment along with manufacturing of classical Ayurvedic medicines.
