(3) Perforating –In which there is a hole such as made by a bullet

(4) Depressed saucer- or gutter shaped depression, usually seen in fractures of the skull.

Electric Treatment-By electrical equipment heat is administered, ultra violet, short wave diathermy, infra red rays etc. The administration of heat has a sedatory effect on nerve ending, so local and general relaxation. It cause a general increase in circulation and metabolism. Ultra –violet radiation can be used locally for its effect on the skin, or generally for its effect on metabolism.
Faradic current can be given to do the artificial exercise. Interrupted direct current can be given to prevent disuse atrophy in denervated tissue

METHODS OF TREATMENT AND THEIR EFFECTS
Message –The overall treatment can be gained through proper massage. Its needs special technique. The sensory nerve-ending in the skin may be stimulated or sedated, the latter assisting both local and general relaxation. This effects result in arteriole dilatation. Venous and lymphatic return is given mechanical assistance by alternate pressure and relaxation. The skin and subcutaneous tissues are moved. This is stretching and softening effect, particularly on fibrous tissues.

Exercise – The movement of muscles and joints has a mechanical pumping effect which assists venous and lymphatic return. Mobility and range of movement can be increased by all forms of movement. Passive movements can stretch, and soften, fibrous structures. Resisted movement will build up muscle power. Balance and coordination can be improved. If sufficient vigour exercise is given general circulatory rate can be raised on the heart.
