Corneal Tattooing using a Tattoo Gun

Performed under topical anaesthesia (no injection) using a Tattoo Gun, and a Bandage Contact Lens placed for recovery in the early post operative period.

Extremely gratifying procedure for patients with significant corneal scars, where a Corneal Transplant is not being considered due to co-existing retinal or optic nerve pathology.

The cosmetic blemish of a significant scar is simply taken care of by Corneal Tattooing.

Referred by a colleague - an elderly lady I saw today.
Was on prolonged Bandage Contact Lens for Bullous Keratopathy
Unfortunately ended up with a Corneal Infection
There were other options other than a Contact lens available to avoid this devastating complication
