In a recently-published article in the European Heart Journal, Drs. Barry Maron and Ankur Kalra discuss challenges in managing hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) patients in India, and propose a heirarchical model for establishing HCM Centers of Excellence in India. Kalra Hospital SRCNC Pvt. Ltd. will be establishing India's first HCM Center of Excellence, and unveiling its name and logo on the World Heart Day in September 2014 at the Le Meridien in New Delhi, India.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the number one cause of deaths worldwide, accounting for 17.3 million deaths. Over 80% of these deaths take place in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). By 2030, 23.6 million people are predicted to die from CVD which places a burden on national economies.
