On occasion of Women's Day, IMA PCB Woman Doctors Wing organized CME on the topic He and She in Harmony. Around 200 delegates registered for the CME. All registered delegates were given free tickets for movie Chhaava. The speakers spoke on a wide variety of topics including skin and hair treatments, hair transplant, IVF and egg freezing, dialysis, laser treatment, ART and cancer.
Chief guest Dr. Jagannath Dixit gave a very interesting talk on healthy lifestyle for doctors. The audience thoroughly appreciated this talk in which Dr. Dixit explained the minute details of Dixit lifestyle. The audience interaction was very good as he has many followers of this diet. Guest of honor, Dr Swapnanjali Avhad WDW chairman IMA MS gave a very unique talk on nurturing leadership. It was very inspiring and motivational. She laid out 10 rules for leadership.
Dr. Ujjwala Dahiphale, President IMA Sambhajinagar and Dr. Raju Varyani, Vice President IMA MS also graced the occasion. President Dr. Maya Bhalerao gave a powerful speech covering a wide range of topics including IMA work, teamwork and a brief overview of activities. Patron Dr. Dilip Kamat spoke about the upcoming MMC elections and urged all registered doctors to vote in the election. Secretary Dr. Sarika Lonkar gave vote of thanks of inauguration ceremony. She urged delegates to take IMA membership.
Quarterly newsletter Spandan was released in the CME. Chief Editor Dr. Sumit Laad spoke about the topics included and made special mention of Dr. Dixit who was guest editor for the issue. The issue has been well received at the state level and the editorial board of Dr. Datye, Dr. Karambelkar and Dr. Nihar Ingale have been appreciated. Dr. Shilpa Kshirsagar and Dr. Smita Valekar put up a small skit about cervical cancer and HPV vaccine. Very well written by Dr. Shilpa and presented in a simple, lucid easy to understand manner by both ladies.
President Elect Dr. Sudhir Bhalerao organized JAM (Just a Minute) session in which 15 participants were given a photo, video and they had to speak non stop on it. Dr. Swapnanjali Avhad, Dr. Rupali Ekbote and Dr. Nihar Ingale were awarded prizes. There were prizes distributed for best attire. These were won by Dr. Milind Sonawane, Dr. Sumit Laad, Dr. Ranjana Kadam and Dr. Rashmi Dharaskar.
Lucky draw prizes were won by Dr. Remya Mahesh, Dr. Gambhir and Dr. Maya Bhalerao.
The CME ended with a panel discussion on the CME topic with various aspects discussed by the panelists Dr. Sanjay Devadhar, Dr. Mandar Doiphode, Dr. Varsha Dange and Dr. Geeta Karambelkar. Dr. Nihar and Amruta Ingale were astute in their selection of discussion topics. This was very well received by the audience as it prompted discussion on the topics of gender equality, working patterns, superwomaniya.
Treasurer Dr. Manisha Doiphode gave vote of thanks. WDW Chairman Dr. Jyoti Dekate worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the CME. She was ably supported by the WDW Committee. All MoCs Dr. Rupali Ekbote, Dr. Smita Valekar, Dr. Rashmi Dharaskar, Dr. Swati Deshmukh and Dr. Pramila Pansare expertly anchored the program.
Present on the occasion were trustees Dr. Madhav Kulkarni, Dr. Sanjay Devadhar, Dr. Suhas Mate ad Vijay Satav. Also present were joint treasurer Dr. Deepali Tongaonkar, Executive Vice President Dr. Aniruddha Tongaonkar, zonal in-charges and EC members.
