The sixth form of the Mother Divine is . Worshipped on the sixth day (Shashti), she is also known as a Warrior Goddess and is believed to be one of the most violent forms of Maa Durga. That energy that sees beyond the senses and knows beyond logic is Katyayani.

On the fifth day of Navratri, devotees pray to this form of Mother Divine -

Skandamata' literally means 'mother of Skanda' or Karthikeya, God of War. Lord Karthikeya was chosen to be the commander-in-chief of the army of devas or gods that was waging war on the Asuras or demons. Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar says that Skandamata is the mother of the six systems of knowledge or philosophy - Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Sankhya, Yoga, Vedanta, and Mimamsa. They are the six limbs of the Vedas or body of knowledge.

💚Green: Green is a symbol of growth and fertility required for success in every field.

On the fourth day of Navratri, the Mother Divine is worshipped in the form of Kushmanda Devi.

It is believed that there was darkness everywhere when the universe did not exist. Devi Kushmanda smiled and the light of her smile created the universe. Residing in the core of the sun, Kushmanda Devi provides energy to the sun, the provider of light and energy to the entire world. Since she created the universe, she is also called Jagat Janani.

The name Kushmanda is made of three words.'Ku' (little), ushma (warmth, energy) and anda(egg). Kushmanda also refers to a ball of
energy. Interestingly, the pumpkin is also called Kushmanda.

Just sit and think of yourself as a pumpkin for just five seconds. The meaning here is to elevate yourself to the Supreme Intelligence which is the Mother Divine herself. Like a pumpkin, you too should feel the abundance and fullness in your life, and see every particle in creation alive with prana. Seeing that awakened intelligence manifest and pervading everywhere in creation is the meaning of Kushmanda.

💛Yellow - It represents joy and enthusiasm

On the third day of Navratri, Mother Divine takes the form of . On her forehead is a crescent moon that looks like a bell in a temple. Therein lies the etymology of the name Chandraghanta - one who has a moon in the form of a bell. She took the form of Chandraghanta on the day she married lord Shiva. Shiva took the form of Chandreshwar and Parvati took the form of Devi Chandraghanta.

Chandra means moon and ghanta means bell. So, Chandraghanta means bell of the moon.

If you think about it, the sound of a bell is the same no matter how you ring it. So, you get only one sound. It represents the oneness of the emotions, thoughts and energies within us. That is to say that all the forms of energy that arise within us emanate from one single Divine energy.

💙Royal Blue: The third incarnation of Devi is Chandraghanta. She wears a gray-colored half-moon on her forehead. The gray also symbolizes her mood, ever ready to fight to destroy the foes of her devotees.

On the second day of Navratri, Mother Divine takes the form of . This is a quiet, beautiful, and yet powerful form of Durga Devi, where She undertakes severe penance to attain Lord Shiva as her consort.

Since Devi spends most of her time meditating, this day is good for meditation. Devi blesses those who undertake fasts, chant mantras, and meditate devoutly, with love, success, knowledge and wisdom. It is believed that praying with steadfast devotion to Devi can help devotees attain the power to control their senses, achieve what their mind is set upon, and ultimately attain moksha or enlightenment.

💚 Green: The second day of Navratri is the second incarnation of Goddess Durga -"GREEN" - DAY 2 Brahmacharani - the female seeking spiritual knowledge. In this form, Goddess Durga or Parvati goes to the verdant mountains to do penance. This is where her prospective consort, Lord Shiva is. She joins him here in asceticism. Hence, green color symbolizes growth, nature, and energy.

Every problem that comes in front of you is to make you realise that you have the skill, talent and ability to come out of it! It is just for you to uncover your true potential.

It's all to make your mind, your intelligence function. When do you really need intelligence? When there is a problem, isn't it? If there is no problem, you will be like cows. Cows have no problem. They eat the grass, drink water and sleep. Like that, if your life is so smooth, without any problem, you will just eat, sleep and become duller and duller and duller.

The Divine has given you brains to use it, to be alert, and every problem that appears in life is an opportunity for you to use your brain. But we do the reverse. We don't use this brain, and we get into more complications rather than solving them! If we have a problem, instead of looking at the solution, we keep looking at how the problem can become, or imagine about the worst outcomes. So do not return your brain to God, unused.

Karma is Not Forever

Every karma has a time period and its result is only up to that time period, whether good to bad.

Good karma will affect you only for a certain period of time, and bad karma also can affect you only for a certain period of time; not forever. So even the worst sinner, the moment he sits and his heart blossoms, and he comes into devotion and acknowledges the Divinity, he is already getting free from all the bad karma.

That is why Lord Krishna said in the Bhagavad Gita, that even if someone is wicked, when he turns to me with an unwavering mind, he should be considered as a good person, as a wise man; a saint.
Like how you treat a saint, that is how you should treat my devotee. Even if he might have done all rubbish in the past, it doesn't matter, because in the present, he is free.

- Gurudev
