Breaking news:
PCOS now called PMOS

Poly endocrine - involve multiple hormones

Metabolic- insulin resistance , androgen imbalance

Ovarian- involves ovaries and reproductive function

Syndrome - group of symptoms occurring together

As of may 12 2026, PCOS is renamed PMOS( lancet )

The global change reflects to reduce the stigma and speed up the diagnosis of 170 million women.

Actually it’s a complex Multisystem condition that effects the whole body
This change will not affect the treatment but will speed up the diagnosis , treatment, awareness and care.

Best way to start our mornings as a Gyanec ….
Patient admitted at night completely natural birthing….
No intervention…
Came in spontaneous labour……and delivered this morning healthy baby boy 3.2 Kg with active phase of labour only 3 hours….
It looks smooth but is not….
So the actual marathon starts before this day…..
Proper checkups
Balanced diet
Checking on every details so nothing is missed and high risk pregnancy can be converted to low risk.
Proper antenatal excercises ..,,,
Most importantly the positivity .
The trust in your birthing companion….I feel that’s the magic…
Promoting normal deliveries again and again…

Finally …much awaited change…..
Now PCOS WILL BE KNOWN AS
PMOS
Poly endocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome ….
So it was never a cystic disease to start with….it was a misnomer….that lead to so many times delay in diagnosis, acceptance and awareness….
This was much needed …

This lil sunshine came to meet me yesterday with her mother…..
I remember vividly this couple came to me 2-2.5 year back with no hope….
At 26 weeks of pregnancy….
With some newer protocols and very strict monitoring I was able to make the pregnancy go up till 35 weeks….
And had a beautiful baby in hand….
Sometimes patients should not be Seen as patients but a couple who is longing for their baby…. With some hope left because many times they have been demoralised…..
Be that hope….
Take every case and give your best
You never know what was impossible for someone
You made it possible

Yes gynaecology is a very demanding profession….
Many a times you haven’t slept well and you get a call at middle of night …
And u still show up …..because that hour maybe everything for someone else.
This couple had lost their previous child….
Were very apprehensive and yes skeptical through out pregnancy….
When I delivered her ….i always ask what you want …she said I want a girl….and yes it was a healthy baby girl….
Her eyes were full of tears….so were mine….
That’s the reason these odd hours never seem odd to us ….
Because this saves life and gives a lifeline to someone else….
Find your companion today…..never feel lost…there is always hope….and I m privileged to be that hope for many couples

I have always been patient centric in my practice….and the trust I see in my patients eyes make me more and more strict with my principles….
Someone once said you are mad about quality care and why should I not be ….patient comes first ….
Just delivered this beautiful patient of mine I have known for last 2 years….a beautiful relationship is developed between patient and doctor with time…
Just at the time of delivery she was so happy she said I WANT TO SEE U MAM…..
It was so overwhelming…
Hope to fill as many lives as possible with happiness….

Normal delivery…..natural conception …
This couple came from east Delhi with lot of anxiousness….but conceived immediately and the most memorable part was the delivery time…..
