UN Women India hosted a National Consultation on Gender and HIV Intersectionality. HLFPPT, alongside PLHIV community members, shared key insights on inclusive HIV care. The dialogue highlighted gender-specific challenges and reinforced the urgency for equity in HIV services. Together, we strive to break barriers and build a gender-responsive healthcare framework.

HLFPPT, under the PMAY-G scheme, has trained over 22,000 rural youth as skilled masons across five states, Odisha, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. Through expert training at the Gram Panchayat level, HLFPPT ensured that each house built is strong, durable, and safe, supporting the goal of “Housing for All".

Over 40 AYUSH providers participated in a training session on May 29 at the CMO Office, Jhansi. Led by Mr. Vishal Abhishek under Project SSHAKTI, the session focused on TB awareness, Ni-kshay registration, and informant incentives—highlighting the key role of AYUSH in accelerating India’s journey towards a TB-free future.

Under the SSHAKTI project, a training session was held at the CMO Office, Jhansi, for NTEP staff including lab technicians. Led by Mr. Vishal Abhishek, the session focused on QR code-based specimen tracking via Ni-kshay, enhancing efficiency in sample collection, transportation, and result reporting to strengthen TB diagnosis and care.

The State Oversight Committee in Meghalaya convened in Shillong to strengthen health systems in prisons and closed settings. Led by Dr. W. Langstieh, Project Director, Meghalaya SACS, the meeting brought together key departments, including Prisons, Law Enforcement, TB, Women & Child, VHCP, and SALSA—to enhance inter-departmental coordination and deliver integrated care for HIV, TB, STI, and Hepatitis among vulnerable populations.

A two-day SSR Review training was held in Jaipur by SR YRG Care and PR HLFPPT from April 21–22. Guided by Dr. Sangita Pandey, Dr. Vijay, and Dr. Shefali, the training empowered staff to enhance their skills and work stronger towards achieving the 95-95-95 HIV goals.

On World Hand Hygiene Day, the spirit of health and awareness came alive in Mandura and Kamkucha villages, where community members, especially women and children came together to learn the life-saving importance of proper handwashing.

Through live demonstrations and interactive sessions in the local language, villagers were taught the six steps of effective handwashing, along with key moments when hand hygiene matters most before meals, after using the toilet, and after contact with waste or animals.

This powerful initiative not only shared knowledge but sparked enthusiasm for healthier habits, marking a meaningful step toward preventing infections and building healthier, safer communities.
