HPV is the short form of HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS .This virus is responsible for more than 99.7% cases of cervical cancer. The good thing about this is that Cervical cancer and other HPV cancers are caused by a virus which is an organism so it can be prevented by a vaccine in just the same way we have vaccines to protect ourselves from other communicable diseases like tuberculosis and MMR .Cervical cancer is most of the time transmitted sexually . Cervical cancer is cancer of the mouth of the uterus. There are about 200 genotypes of this virus out of which at least 14 genotypes can cause various types of cancers and also ge***al warts . The cancers caused by this HPV are cervical cancer in women, pe**le cancer in men ,oropharyngeal cancers and ge***al warts in both men and women . This is the array of the disease burden human papillomavirus causes and very interestingly can be prevented by taking vaccine .
