No matter how healthy it is, that’s not an excuse to eat more. It’s still sweet.
No matter how many healthy ingredients are used, it still has calories, sugars and fat and cannot be taken in excess.
No matter whether it is besan barfi, ragi ladoo, carrot kheer or beetroot halwa for that matter, they still have sugar and have to be taken in small amounts.
So, let’s stop thinking it is healthy, so it must be low in calories. Adding healthier ingredients in sweets does not mean a green signal to eat in large portions. As with anything in excess, this can be detrimental too.
To be clear, I am not suggesting you avoid sweets during Diwali or any festival for that matter. Enjoy the sweet and other delicacies. Moderation is the key here. 😄
So, enjoy that piece of mithai mindfully and savor each bite to the fullest.
