Bareilly's Minority Areas Are Being Ignored - It's Time to Speak Up

Broken roads open drains poor sanitation and irregular garbage collection have become a daily struggle in areas like Ganj Shahamatganj and Qila in Bareilly where a large section of our minority community lives
These issues are not just about inconvenience they are about dignity and basic rights I have been visiting these areas meeting local residents and witnessing firsthand how negligence is impacting families elders children and daily
wage earners

Clean streets functional street lights and safe roads should not be a dream they should be the minimum standard for every
citizen Regardless of their background or area
I have initiated "Jan Samvaad" - weekly dialogues with the people in affected areas so their voice is heard and their problems are documented and addressed I am also preparing a civic report with on-ground photos and testimonies to submit to Bareilly Municipal Corporation
The aim is simple - accountability and action
Let's stop accepting neglect as normal
Together we must demand better

Empowering Minorities in Bareilly: Challenges and Solutions

I am Mubashir MB Malik and being actively involved in community welfare I have witnessed the struggles faced by minorities in Bareilly despite their rich contributions to the city’s culture and economy Communities including Muslims Sikhs Christians and Jains face numerous challenges that need urgent attention and sustainable solutions

Challenges Faced by Minorities
1. Educational Barriers
Many children from minority communities lack access to quality education and proper guidance Due to financial constraints and lack of awareness students often drop out affecting their long-term growth and opportunities
2. Economic Struggles
Small-scale businesses and self-employed individuals from minority backgrounds struggle to get financial support and business opportunities This limits their growth and hinders their ability to contribute to the economy
3. Limited Access to Healthcare
In many minority-dominated areas access to quality healthcare remains inadequate leading to poor health outcomes and increased vulnerability to diseases
4. Unemployment and Skill Gap
Lack of vocational training and industry-relevant skills affects the employability of youth from minority backgrounds This results in limited job opportunities and financial instability

Government Initiatives and Positive Developments
1. Scholarships and Educational Support
The government has introduced Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships for minority students which is encouraging children to continue their education without financial burden Upgradation of schools in minority areas is also helping improve learning conditions
2. Skill Development and Employment Opportunities
Schemes like Seekho Aur Kamao are equipping minority youth with essential skills making them job-ready and improving their chances of securing employment
3. Hunar Haat Empowering Artisans
Hunar Haat has provided a platform for minority artisans to showcase and sell their products which has empowered them financially and helped preserve their traditional skills
4. Entrepreneurship Support through PM Vishwakarma Yojana
The government is supporting small-scale entrepreneurs from minority communities by providing financial assistance and business guidance under this scheme
5. Better Healthcare Access
Efforts are being made to improve healthcare infrastructure in minority-dominated areas ensuring that communities have access to preventive and curative healthcare

Way Forward Toward Inclusive Growth
While these initiatives are bringing positive changes continuous efforts and community participation are necessary to ensure sustainable growth and equal opportunities for all minorities in Bareilly I believe that through skill development educational empowerment and promoting entrepreneurship we can build a more inclusive and prosperous society

As a social worker I am committed to advocating for the rights and welfare of minorities and ensuring that every community in Bareilly gets the opportunity to grow and contribute to the city’s progress

Remembering Dara Shikoh A Visionary Ahead of His Time
On March 20th we commemorate the birth anniversary of Dara Shikoh a Mughal prince known for his profound contributions to Indian philosophy culture and religious harmony

Eldest son of Shah Jahan Dara Shikoh was not just a prince but a scholar poet and a true bridge between religions His greatest contribution was translating 50 Upanishads from Sanskrit to Persian making ancient Indian knowledge accessible to the world His work “Sirr-e-Akbar” (The Great Secret) reflects his deep respect for all religions promoting the idea of unity between Hinduism and Islam

His vision of an inclusive India where cultures and religions coexisted harmoniously remains relevant even today His tragic end was a loss to India’s cultural and philosophical richness but his legacy continues to inspire those who believe in unity and peace

Let us honor his memory by upholding the values he stood for—tolerance knowledge and harmony
