Kedar full of youthfulness after 121-day kutipravesham
Redefining and concretising the contours of traditional Ayurveda, the Padinharkara Charitable Trust through its Padinharkara Ayurveda Hospital and Research Centre made yet another leap on Friday (June 14, 2019) when Kedar (69) stepped out younger and stronger from the trigarbha griha after 120 days of kayakalpa chikatsa. The black hair and the smooth skin says it all.
In Kedar's words just at the doorstep of the kuti: "I feel rejuvenated. I feel energised. I appreciate the sounds and sights I've never heard for four months."
It's a process of a spiritual tapas, says Kedar of Texas in the US, a disciple of Maharshi Mahesh Yogi. Kedar, whose original name is Will Fox, has been teaching transcendental meditation at Maharshi Ashram in Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand for the last 23 years as resident in India.
"It's a purifying process and organising the whole physiology. The whole impact on my health and my body can be known only my three medical problems - a hearing problem which seems to have resolved, spondylitis where there has been improvement and skin problem which is showing a very great improvement," sid Kedar.
The very noticeable change he felt was a "feeling of strength in the entire gut, all my internal organs".
He is waiting for another month of post-treatment care to pass so that he can move around.
Dr P Sethumadhavan, who heads the trust and the hospital, is thrilled at the results of his efforts at taking forward the seventh part of the eight-fold science of Ayurveda - Kutipraveshika Rasayana Prayogam
Jarachikitsa or Rasayana treatment is basically to retain youthfulness which is, in a sense, avoiding illnesses that come with ageing. Old age can set in early and growing old is no illness. Instead it is the fear of growing old that is an ailment, he says.
And given the results of this treatment on Kedar, Dr Sethumadhavan and his team supported by Dr Akhil, Dr Bhagyasree,Dr Adrija,Dr Aathira, Dr Aparna and Dr Rajesh have reasons to take this forward to greater heights as it is all about giving youthfulness to lead a more responsible and meaningful life.
