*18.03.2023, Saturday* A case of Tumor in a heifer was referred to SDVH Pakyong from Latuk Village . A team lead by Dr. Chandrawati Gautam, Deputy Director,SDVH Pakyong along with Dr. Kamal Rai, VO , MVU, Mr Som Bdr Tamang, Livestock Attendant, SDVH Pakyong, Mr Tenzing Bhutia and Mr Sonam Dadul Bhutia from VD Barapathing attended the case.The Tumor mass of 400 Grams was excised successfully. Surgical management of tumor is always a challenging job under field conditions.

Classical swine fever (CSF) is a highly contagious and often fatal viral disease of swine. Infected pigs develop fever, hemorrhages, lethargy, yellowish diarrhea, vomiting, and a purple skin discoloration of the ears, lower abdomen, and legs. Neurologic signs, reproductive failures, and abortion may also be observed.

Pre-requisite for Cattle Insurance under NLM scheme of Sikkim Livestock Development Board(SLDB):
1)The insurance is done for cow yielding more than 1200ltrs/lactation (4-5ltrs/day).
2)The insurance shall be done for milching cows from 1st lactation till the age of 10years .
3)All animals to be insured should be tagged with unique ID ear tag of INAPH.
4)3 sets of photograph :
a) Single pic of animal to be insured with visible ear tag
b)Close pic of animal face with visible INAPH ear tag
c)Owner carrying the paper with written 12 digit (ear tag no.) along with the animal.
