When you visit the Miramar beach, you will not miss this nicely made lofty figure of a man holding a fish in one hand and eating it with the other. It is part of "Save the beach" campaign launced during "World Environment Day". Inside the stomach of the fish, you can see plastic bottles signifying the kind of dangers these bottles can pose to marine life and the ecosystem. Recently, when scientists and veterinarians cut open the womb and stomach of a dead baby whale which was washed ashore, they found nearly 50 pounds of plastic waste jammed into her belly. It was a horrifying sight where plastic filled more than two thirds of her stomach.
