Our inspiration!

Dear Friends,
Today is the 104th birthday of the legendary social worker . A lawyer by training and a true Gandhian at heart, he and his wife, Sadhna Amte started an organization for leprosy patients at Anandwan in 1950.

Baba Amte received many awards and prizes including the Padma Vibhushan, the Dr. Ambedkar International Award, the Gandhi Peace Prize, the Ramon Magsaysay Award, the Templeton Prize and the Jamnalal Bajaj Award.

Our founder Dr Suhas Haldipurkar had the privilege of operating on both eyes of this visionary in 2003.
