How Neem Helps in Constipation:
Neem has:

Purgative properties (mildly stimulates bowel movements)
Detoxifying effect on the colon

Antibacterial & antifungal effects (clears gut infections)
Anti-inflammatory action (reduces irritation in the intestines)

Ways to Use Neem for Constipation:
⚠️ Always start with small doses. Neem is bitter and strong.

1. Neem Leaf Powder (Internal Use)
Dosage: ¼ to ½ teaspoon once daily
How to Take: Mix with warm water or lukewarm ghee before bed
Best Time: At night (to support morning bowel movement)

Use only for short-term (3–5 days), especially if constipation is due to indigestion or gut toxins.

2. Neem Juice (Fresh or Store-Bought)
Dosage: 10–15 ml diluted in ½ glass of warm water

How to Take: Early morning on an empty stomach

Effect: Clears gut heat, mildly purgative

3. Neem Oil (E***a Use in Panchakarma)
Use: Under Ayurvedic supervision only

Why: Neem oil is used in Basti (medicated e***a) to treat chronic constipation or piles caused by inflammation.

4. Neem Tea (Mild Use)
How to Prepare: Boil 1 tsp dried neem leaves in 2 cups water → reduce to 1 cup → strain

Drink: Once daily in the evening

Helps: Flushes mild toxins and supports digestion

❌ Avoid Neem If:
You are pregnant or breastfeeding

You have dry body type (Vata prakriti) – it can worsen dryness and lead to more constipation

You are dehydrated or underweight

Better Ayurvedic Herbs for Chronic Constipation:
Neem can help, but better natural remedies include:

Triphala (best for regular use)
Isabgol (Psyllium husk)
Castor oil (as purgative under guidance)
Aloe vera juice (soothing and hydrating)
