Reconstructive Surgery Camp at Kothara Leprosy Hospital!

We're thrilled to share that our ongoing Reconstructive Surgery Camp at Kothara Leprosy Hospital is making a profound impact! Currently, 28 patients have been admitted for life-changing surgeries.
Reconstructive surgery offers incredible benefits for individuals affected by leprosy, going far beyond physical healing:
โ€ข Improved Functionality: Corrects deformities like claw hand, foot drop, and lagophthalmos (inability to close the eye), restoring the ability to perform daily tasks and work.
โ€ข Enhanced Appearance: Addresses visible impairments, reducing stigma and improving self-esteem and confidence.
โ€ข Greater Independence: Allows individuals to regain self-care abilities and participate more fully in society.
โ€ข Social Inclusion: Helps overcome the social stigma associated with leprosy, enabling better acceptance within families and communities, and opening doors to education and employment opportunities.
โ€ข Prevention of Further Disability: By correcting existing deformities, it helps prevent secondary complications and further deterioration.
These surgeries are true acts of transformation, giving patients a renewed sense of hope and dignity.
We kindly request all our well-wishers to support this vital cause. Your contributions can help us reach more individuals and continue providing these essential services, empowering those affected by leprosy to lead fulfilling lives.
