You will tread on the lion and the adder, the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot. Ps. 91: 13 Yes…! This is my testimony…!
This is the time for me to witness and thank God the Almighty, who enabled me to write this testimony that I have experienced the healing touch of God from a poisonous snake bite on last Sunday evening (13th September, 2020). Katrapally is a small village which is having a prominent place in the mission history, where the first foreign mission (Parkal) of Travancore Cochin (MKD) Diocese born here in 1924. The undeveloped situations and lack of infrastructural facilities made the social life worse in Katrapally. People are still suffering with the poisonous snakes and scorpions bites. Bethel Homeo Dispensary in Katrapally was the only source of medical assistance which saves many in the past from poisonous snakes and scorpions bites. But in these days it is not functioning where people have to rely upon Parkal, 25 km away from here for medical assistance. To reach Parkal is a long way to go where there is no public transportation system. Many a time villagers lose their lives and are struggling to get out of these uncertain situations because of lack of medical and transport facilities. It is the time to think and rethink how our former missionaries and sisters served in the midst of these uncertain situations in Katrapally. When the Bethel Ashram was functioning in our mission compound, we lost one of our Ashram children due to snake bite. I am the second snake bitten victim from the Katrapally Mission Compound and the one who survived from the snake bite.
Katrapally mission compound is a place of snakes and scorpions and we are facing difficulties from it. Our compound is not secured with a compound wall which is surrounded by cultivation farms. When cultivation starts our mission compound is the secure place snakes and scorpions. We, the school children, staff, tailoring center workers, evangelist’s and missionary’s family are the real victims of snakes and scorpions and are really struggling and surviving in the midst of these uncertain situations. All these uncertain situations can be reduced if we have a compound wall. So I humbly request your continuing prayers and support for the needs of the hour.
I was really experienced the real pain and suffering of a snake bitten person on last Sunday evening (13th September, 2020). It was really a miracle that, God has rescued our son Ajo (4 years) who played 30 minutes back on the same place where I got snake bite. We are grateful to CSI UAE Youth Movement for the new vehicle, which was a great help to reach the hospital on time for treatment. I bow head to God for the healing touch and made me to stand as a witness to many. Now I recovered from it and continuing medication for one more week. I thank my Bishop. Thomas K. Oommen, Diocesan officers, all achens, evangelists, sisters, congregations, missionaries and mission friends who contacted me and prayed for my speedy recovery. I thank the healing God who brought Dr. Sreekumar, Homeo Hospital, Mugalapally one day before my snake bite, who did his best. I thank Rigin achen-Parkal Mission, Jess achen-Telangana Mission, Sr. Anna John-Home of Gandhinagar and Evg. Jacob Kuriakose sir who were with me and take care of all the things in my painful situation. Continue to uphold my family and Katrapally Mission in your prayers.

REST-IN-PEACE THANDRIGARU
The CSI Diocese of Madhya Kerala is having continuing a relationship with CSI Dornakal Diocese in partnering with mission and ministry more than 10 decades. The great call of God through the then Bishop of Dornakal; V.S. Azariah in 1916 led to sow the seeds of Gospel in the soil of Andhra. Rt. Rev. Dr Vadapalli Prasada Rao, the Former Deputy Moderator of CSI and the Bishop in Dornakal was holding a continuing relationship with us especially to the Katrapally, Parkal, Mogulapally mission fields of CSI MKD. We really experienced his love, humility and pastoral care when we celebrated the Closing Ceremony of the CSI Parkal Mission's 90th Year & the Inauguration of the CSI Bishop Joseph Memorial High School, Katrapally,(25th Year Jubilee) on April 26, 2015 at Katrapally. The sudden demise of Bishop was really shocking news. May God console and strengthen the bereaved family. We had the privilege to attend the funeral service held at CSI Epiphany Cathedral Dornakal yesterday on behalf of CSI Diocese of Madhya Kerala and Missions in Telangana. Requesting your continuing prayers for the bereaved family.

“Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” – Deuteronomy 11:18-19

A GREAT VISIONARY OF MISSION
Remembering Bishop. V.S. Azariah on his 146th birthday, first Anglican Bishop of India. 'It was the challenge of Bishop Azariah at Centenary (1816-1916) meeting (commemorating the Advent of CMS Missionaries to Kerala) that inspired the then Travancore & Kochin diocese to open a foreign mission fieldin the then Nizam state, the present Telangana state. Those were the old days of Bishop Gill and Bishop Moore. When the diocese asked the young people to make the decision and raise the hands if anybody was willing to go as Missionaries. Mr. eapen was one of the few who raised their hands and was prayed for. Without knowing her son's dedication his mother Soshamma Eapen plucked off her ornaments from her ears and offered them for Foreign mission, Parkal. In the same night Mr. Eapen revealed to his mother that he have decided to go for the missionary work. At once she praised God for His miraculous leading and hugged her son. In later year she followed her son and laid down her life earlier to him in Parkal Mission.' (Archives, source: unknown)..............................We are grateful to God for Bishop Azariah, for his challenging call to start mission works in Parkal, in 1916. Rev. K.E. Eapen (Kannattusseril family, CSI Ascension Church, Kanjikuzhy) who committed himself to mission with his blood and started mission works at Katrapally in 1924 lead to the formation of Parkal Mission. The Children of God in Parkal, Telangana and Katrapally mission fields are experiencing and journeying with the Missionary God throughout the last 96 years. #

SERVING TO SERVE WITH 'SEVA'
Sr. Annie Thomas Tailoring Center, Katrapally is started on 1st December, 2018 which functions as a Tailoring Training Center in Katrapally village as part of the Social Engagement Ministry of CSI Katrapally Mission. Katrapally village is situated in Shayampet Mandal, Warangal Rural district of Telangana State functioning under CSI Karimnagar Diocese. Katrapally is not a developed village and a remote area where there is no employment opportunities, transportation, medical and communication facilities with lesser societal and infrastructural developments. The project is identified to be the priority for providing employment opportunities especially to rural Dalit and Adivasi women to socio-economic development. The Center is rejuvenated and supported by Csi Seva Department under the WOMEN DARE project as a Production Center-RURAL DALIT AND ADIVASI WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CENTER. In this Center we have 13 women working with great enthusiasm on daily basis which is functioning in the old Bethel Ashram building which we renovated for this Center. The aim of the establishment is to empower women to participate in socio-economic development which will change their standard of living so that they can engage in irradiating poverty. The major activities of the center are to serve the society by producing products like cloth bags, jute bags, Wall Pouch, Jute Files, Church Vestments, Clergy Vestments like Surplice, Stole, Girdle etc. which can cater eco-friendly home, church and society with best quality in reasonable price. We are looking forward to introduce our product -MASK MAKING which is the need of the hour. We are getting orders from Csi Seva Department, Communication Department-Chennai, Christian Book stalls from Karimnagar and Warangal. We are partnering hand in hand with the support and guidance of Csi Seva Department of Church of South India (CSI). We are grateful to Almighty God for enabling us to start this Center in this rural village. We are also grateful to Rt. Rev. Dr. Prof. K. Reuben Mark, Deputy Moderator of CSI and Bishop of Karimnagar Diocese, Rev. J Solomon Paul, the Director of Csi Seva, Mr. George Wesley Program Executive, Mrs. Merlin Christopher and other staff of the SEVA Department for their support and encouragement.
