A 56-year-old male presented with decreased vision in the left eye for 4 weeks and was diagnosed with vitreous haemorrhage due to advanced Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy.
He underwent timely Pars Plana Vitrectomy with membrane peeling, endolaser, and silicone oil injection, resulting in remarkable visual recovery from hand movements to 6/18 best-corrected vision.

At Sodhi Eye Hospital, timely diagnosis and advanced treatment can make a life-changing difference. A patient presented with decreased vision in the left eye due to Vitreous Haemorrhage caused by Advanced Diabetic Retinopathy. Although the patient had been living with diabetes for five years, this was their first retinal evaluation.

The patient underwent green laser treatment under the expert care of Dr. Preet Kanwar Singh Sodhi. Within just three weeks, vision improved remarkably—from finger counting at 1 metre to 6/9. Preventive green laser treatment was also performed in the other eye to reduce the risk of similar vision loss.

This case highlights our commitment to precision care, advanced technology, and diligent follow-up to achieve the best possible visual outcomes.

If you are diabetic, hypertensive, over 50 years of age, or experiencing floaters or flashes of light, we strongly recommend a comprehensive retina examination by our retina specialist.
