Bihar, the largest state in Eastern India, is currently facing a major health crisis. Each district averages 2.69 lakh urban patients and 7.40 lakh rural patients suffering from hypertension and Type 2 diabetes. Alarmingly, 57% of these patients die from heart attacks, and 24% die from cerebral ischemic strokes. In total, 81% of patients with hypertension or Type 2 diabetes die due to complications from cardiac disease and strokes, especially in rural areas.
The main reasons? 100% Unawareness and Unaffordability of healthcare treatment in India.
But there’s hope on a global level! No more worries about discontinuing lifelong treatments for any of the five major metabolic diseases.
