In a historic first General Body meeting, the Bihar Thoracic Society has proudly elected its office bearers. Dr. S.K. Madhukar, Consultant at Madhukar’s Clinic and Lung Hospital, has been named the Honorary President of the Society. Dr. Prakash Sinha has been appointed as the Honorary Secretary, and Dr. Amitabh Banka will serve as the Treasurer.

The Bihar Thoracic Society is committed to advancing awareness and knowledge in pulmonary medicine across the state. In collaboration with national and international organizations, the Society will organize an annual national conference on pulmonary medicine in Bihar, aimed at fostering growth and learning within the field. In addition, the Society will offer fellowships and grants to recognize outstanding contributions in pulmonary medicine.

Following the elections, the Society’s leadership met with Bihar’s Honourable Health Minister, Sri Mangal Pandey, and expressed their commitment to working in collaboration with the government to align with state health policies.

This marks an exciting new chapter for pulmonary medicine in Bihar.
